How do I know if my educational goals match the opportunities offered
by T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA is the umbrella for a variety of scholarship opportunities.  These include:

CDA (Child Development Associate's Credential) Scholarship

a CDA is a nationally recognized credential that says those who have earned it are able to meet the specific needs of children, nurturing their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.  The CDA credential training includes 120 clock hours (equivalent to 12 credit hours) of formal early childhood education in eight subject areas.  A person who successfully completes the training and assessment is called a "Child Development Associate" and is granted a CDA credential.  The credential is valid for three years from the date of award; after which, the credential may be renewed for five-year periods.  Professionals pursuing a CDA through a T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA scholarship earn college/university credit.

CDA Assessment Scholarship

Professionals who successfully complete the CDA training undergo an assessment process before being granted the CDA credential.  During this time, the CDA candidate gathers required materials and demonstrates competence in working with children and families.  T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA helps pay for the $325.00 assessment fee.

CDA Renewal Scholarship

The purpose of the CDA renewal is to ensure that Child Development Associates are maintaining current knowledge and skills in their work with young children and their families.
Every three years, professionals must take 4.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) or three (3) college credits of training in early childhood education or child development in order to renew the credential and maintain their status as a Child Development Associate.  T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA  helps to offset the cost of obtaining CEU's or college credits required for renewal.

Associate's Degree Scholarship (in Early Childhood Education or Child Development)

This opportunity open to those who have earned a high school diploma or GED.

Bachelor's Degree Scholarship (in Early Childhood Education or Child Development)

Do you already have an Associate's Degree in early childhood education or child development, or have you earned at least 55 credit hours toward a Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education or child development?  The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA  Bachelor's Degree Scholarship can help you finish school.
