  T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA > Scholarship Overview

"Thanks, T.E.A.C.H.!  I couldn't do it without you!"

Since 1999, the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA Project has served as an umbrella for a variety of educational scholarship opportunities for people working in licensed, registered, or exempt child care centers and homes in Indiana.  T.E.A.C.H. links training, compensation, and commitment in order to improve the quality of care and educational experiences for young children and their families.

Children are the main beneficiaries of the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA program because they are able to bond with a teacher who has made a commitment to early childhood education, is a specialist in the field, understands child development, and  is sensitive to the needs of the very young.

Child care professionals benefit by ehancing their skills and knowledge about the developmental needs of children.  In turn, compensation, professional status, and job satisfaction are increased.

Child care programs benefit by having staff members who are more knowledgeable about good early childhood practices. Participating center directors have reported reduced staff turnover, which has helped to improve their program quality and marketability.
